The pattern is called 'Silver Moon Tea' and is from Mirabilia, and here is what I've stitched so far:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkj1LQKmU8xVEAZNTCZZ7OXE3U3Ln-lSvSocpcn3aWcnbuwdb4el-wZ6PWK4Qi5x7bqMlwBJ87Wx74r1qw2hp_DeacdrzmsrKgPU7MV7OW-IW418okliO9wH5vG1-oODWR7ibejYfjLn4/s1600/IMG_2763.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkj1LQKmU8xVEAZNTCZZ7OXE3U3Ln-lSvSocpcn3aWcnbuwdb4el-wZ6PWK4Qi5x7bqMlwBJ87Wx74r1qw2hp_DeacdrzmsrKgPU7MV7OW-IW418okliO9wH5vG1-oODWR7ibejYfjLn4/s400/IMG_2763.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This is the first time I've stitched a Mirabilia pattern and I have truly thrown myself in at the deep end as it is a 8 inch by 8 inch piece of solid cross stitching, approx. 16,384 stitches (including beading). WOW. I would say I'm just over half way through it at this point in time but I am about to take a break from it to stitch my sister a Forever Friends design for her birthday in July and I need to get cracking on that else it won't be done in time.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is what the finished Silver Moon Tea will look like:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEN6CKxn8g-Y83Tvjaw92nuyH-9XukzOoftRekKZNEsE9vDVNglqkIKXJ5iiEGlVk7HN0g9oDo0VI0PKf817Ocncpg1zWBlfU6wpeQW4EBvvJMgVRBMqoXrRQUCmk97VjpZ-Db7OOFi6k/s1600/md119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEN6CKxn8g-Y83Tvjaw92nuyH-9XukzOoftRekKZNEsE9vDVNglqkIKXJ5iiEGlVk7HN0g9oDo0VI0PKf817Ocncpg1zWBlfU6wpeQW4EBvvJMgVRBMqoXrRQUCmk97VjpZ-Db7OOFi6k/s200/md119.jpg" width="195" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm not sure that I will choose such a heavy frame for it when I do get it finished but I am looking forward to hanging it on the wall...eventually!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'll probably be back in a couple of weeks with some progress on the Forever Friends piece,</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
see you soon!</div>

I finally got around to washing these pieces in readiness for framing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhChJon6iW6-Mfh-4tYCeaFQp6AVI5XZ_7pr_7nCsM8UOJxFfHVQYUBWx6l3wRWltXvEZfXDTJZ3vcIaMRCopVuuOmsEbhDfr3vClRIkFsfsWNFhA2ywGI0lnZzQ7muG6KYJCGSF5VLug/s1600/IMG_2752.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhChJon6iW6-Mfh-4tYCeaFQp6AVI5XZ_7pr_7nCsM8UOJxFfHVQYUBWx6l3wRWltXvEZfXDTJZ3vcIaMRCopVuuOmsEbhDfr3vClRIkFsfsWNFhA2ywGI0lnZzQ7muG6KYJCGSF5VLug/s400/IMG_2752.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This piece was stitched from a Dimensions Gold Collection Petites kit called 'Elegant Geisha'. I completed this late 2011. I intend to get this framed and put up in our bedroom as the dark pink in the Geisha's obi (bow) is the same as the paint on the walls. I also have a couple of kokeshi dolls in there, so it will be in-keeping with the oriental theme.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
This one was stitched from a DMC Deco kit called 'Pretty in Pink', I completed this one sometime during 2010, I can't remember exactly when. I chose this design when I was having a fad on all things burlesque. Rather than getting this framed I may make it into a central panel on a cushion cover to give to a friend for her birthday.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stitched this from a Dimensions kit, which I think was called 'Pegasus & colt'. I began this piece many years ago, found I'd mis-stitched somewhere and couldn't work out how to put it right. I promptly put it in the cupboard and forgot about it :-) I got around to sorting my stitching things out and found it again, this time I was determined to finish and managed to work around my previous mistake (I don't think anyone could tell where I messed up?!). I finally finished it back in 2009, it's a cute design and I like the iridescent threads in the wings and clouds, they are so pretty when they catch the light. Trouble is, if I get it framed I'm not sure where I'll hang it but it's too nice to not do something with...I'll think on it.</div>

I just wanted to show off my latest large project that I completed on 29 March 2012.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjosMaHEO_EzPHcpDJeJt7cJFuV8hx7rxqSn732DhWKRQT0tzgZhVTHpsTeXdS0ZMghozcAYW7BozuaE74CDsb0BdMKsqVjknAzGyUMgYUJp_xcLGPZeXQqNyjtZcQy-bwFW08WC7XsxdY/s1600/IMG_2734.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjosMaHEO_EzPHcpDJeJt7cJFuV8hx7rxqSn732DhWKRQT0tzgZhVTHpsTeXdS0ZMghozcAYW7BozuaE74CDsb0BdMKsqVjknAzGyUMgYUJp_xcLGPZeXQqNyjtZcQy-bwFW08WC7XsxdY/s400/IMG_2734.jpg" width="361" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
The pattern is called 'Mother Moon' and is available in a book called 'Bewitching Cross Stitch' by Joan Elliott. I love Joan's designs and have many more of her pieces in my wish list to make, especially one or two of her fairies and at least one of her mermaids. This was stitched on evenweave fabric in a pale silver grey, I used DMC cotton threads, Kreinik metallic threads and Mill Hill beads.<br />
<br />
I am just finishing off a little stitched scissor fob and as soon as that is done I shall be starting my first Mirabillia pattern called 'Silver Moon Tea'! I am excited to stitch a Mirabillia as they are such exquisite designs and I have seen several up close that have been completed by a friend of mine, the results are just gorgeous.<br />

I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't as I've been away far too long. I have still been making cards, not so avidly though. Mostly I just make them for family and friends now as I found it far too time consuming and difficult to sell them on the web.<br />
<br />
Something I have been doing a fair bit of lately is cross stitch. It was my first real crafting hobby and it's nice to have fallen back in love with it. I have a large piece on the go at the moment but in between stitching that I have managed to make a stitched valentine card as well as a small picture piece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ8FwLJ55oWDT4m3Q8_W9fiMpZtS8Wz2Fa0Xee9hwYsH3UAQIAf-2Mrm1Yc_L3C5RZF8jKOijCg4UnmEV8lRokJMPMhPF_canvrr2mpCvlGckLL3xv40cXs_Fv4GJ6iB49sQHTB6-udWg/s1600/IMG_2718.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ8FwLJ55oWDT4m3Q8_W9fiMpZtS8Wz2Fa0Xee9hwYsH3UAQIAf-2Mrm1Yc_L3C5RZF8jKOijCg4UnmEV8lRokJMPMhPF_canvrr2mpCvlGckLL3xv40cXs_Fv4GJ6iB49sQHTB6-udWg/s400/IMG_2718.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This small piece is from a book of designs by Joan Elliot called 'Fairy Enchantment', she was lovely and quick to stitch taking me exactly one week to do (she is only 4 & half inches square after all!).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh2akkoG5RfciuJn-PLH8xvskJhIsVBeTA3zqGqH51E02HiMwoYoppV8XeDjLCCIUlCinqUIumE_ipWE2kevTpJCAjwqhoyE2IDxSo026jw4mIRwupDA_0XfwlP1oRuGWVBEEkuaygBh8/s1600/IMG_2713.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh2akkoG5RfciuJn-PLH8xvskJhIsVBeTA3zqGqH51E02HiMwoYoppV8XeDjLCCIUlCinqUIumE_ipWE2kevTpJCAjwqhoyE2IDxSo026jw4mIRwupDA_0XfwlP1oRuGWVBEEkuaygBh8/s400/IMG_2713.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the valentine card I made for my husband this year, it is another Joan Elliott design from a book of cross stitch card patterns. Lots of little beads on this one which were a bit fiddly to add but worth is as they finish the pattern off nicely. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hopefully I'll be finishing the larger piece I'm stitching very soon and I promised to blog about that one too :-)</div>

Over the Easter break I tried out two new rubber stamps I brought recently. The first is a cute mermaid designed by <a href="http://www.sherribaldy.com/">Sherri Baldy</a>, the image is entitled 'Remembering you' and is available<a href="http://katstamps.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=1932"> here</a>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh01ZKdKeXcgoAKchKkV_jiFJG_X2xjMqBSoWE6tg1t4MQADadh8fU74Np9YxNGXRSQH5BYnExjT-ekhnYqQJKd8DQAf6Re3lHcsokv3VuRPCPcyLg9xJF2DC1eLV6XbV10-jDdl5CI0V0/s1600/IMG_2124.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh01ZKdKeXcgoAKchKkV_jiFJG_X2xjMqBSoWE6tg1t4MQADadh8fU74Np9YxNGXRSQH5BYnExjT-ekhnYqQJKd8DQAf6Re3lHcsokv3VuRPCPcyLg9xJF2DC1eLV6XbV10-jDdl5CI0V0/s400/IMG_2124.jpg" width="306" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I coloured the image with Promarkers and enhanced it a little with some Glamor Dust glitter. Using a brass stencil from Avec I pierced the matting card and made an embroidered frame in aqua metallic thread. This was then layered with ribbons and linen textured card onto some subtle pearlised card before being attached to a basic A5 sized card blank.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbbOmkFik7GVoQSHf2CfKQS_wXsfa9_Uz6BGs-G57myjsEWDJDZpJCO1lLmy_LZEEu7CPhR6PbqNMOVM67-iCIBxRqrn6jSzdA-zRVGCDu9UbdGJJC9_gm0c7qt7yverZovdcuUxAQ5FU/s1600/IMG_2123.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbbOmkFik7GVoQSHf2CfKQS_wXsfa9_Uz6BGs-G57myjsEWDJDZpJCO1lLmy_LZEEu7CPhR6PbqNMOVM67-iCIBxRqrn6jSzdA-zRVGCDu9UbdGJJC9_gm0c7qt7yverZovdcuUxAQ5FU/s320/IMG_2123.jpg" width="197" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This angled shot helps you to see the textured matting card by Inspire Me Papers and the stitching too, which, if I'm honest, was the most fiddly and time consuming part of this card :-)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I brought the stamp for the faery card from the NEC back in March and it is Kraftin Kimmie and is available <a href="http://www.kraftinkimmiestamps.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=221">here</a>. Her name is the 'Forget me not fairy' and I just fell in love with her wild curly hair!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn-FgGpaDjgh-HO7vPhL_gUyB3um2eCS42fIQnQKT8j-PobTiNMLVFjAXG676WYf7LaG-7ySrVn94uhJ8bEGmWo2sYxuqZcHctU7n6tBv-gXPmYEoOA48ostrZ92AJPcWk_w1HmXGNHRA/s1600/IMG_2128.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn-FgGpaDjgh-HO7vPhL_gUyB3um2eCS42fIQnQKT8j-PobTiNMLVFjAXG676WYf7LaG-7ySrVn94uhJ8bEGmWo2sYxuqZcHctU7n6tBv-gXPmYEoOA48ostrZ92AJPcWk_w1HmXGNHRA/s400/IMG_2128.jpg" width="297" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Again the image is coloured with Promarkers and die cut with a Spellbinders oval frame. I chose to use the real colours of a forget-me-not flower and used card stock to match in linen texture and pearlised card. A brass stencil from Marianne's 'Franciens Faeries' range was used to create the embossed corners, with a little paper embroidery in green metallic thread. The flowers and butterfly were both die cut using Joy! crafts dies and the lace was an ebay purchase. All this was mounted onto a white A5 card blank.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_PSnFq8Gn9qtXXVnB8LG_Z-bOWatnk2QE5tbJqzzoOiERqPdJzSvFaSb3e46CiJV9-kr7qaMNTeL_jGUUerGnzsi9lKAh3eChSQnez0_FxndbzYFKAj2kyrcS55SkgfP2DGr3i5anhm4/s1600/IMG_2127.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_PSnFq8Gn9qtXXVnB8LG_Z-bOWatnk2QE5tbJqzzoOiERqPdJzSvFaSb3e46CiJV9-kr7qaMNTeL_jGUUerGnzsi9lKAh3eChSQnez0_FxndbzYFKAj2kyrcS55SkgfP2DGr3i5anhm4/s320/IMG_2127.jpg" width="212" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Another angled shot to show the embossing better. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hope you have all had a lovely Easter break, I'm back to work in the morning, but it's a very short week again, so no complaints there!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sarah x</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It features the fantasy art of Josephine Wall, I've been a fan of hers for years and was delighted when they brought out this CD. There's dozens of lovely images, it's hard to choose which ones to use, I highly recommend it to crafters who love fantasy images. I used an extra large (just a bit smaller than A4) sized base card, topped it with pearlised white card and used some pastel blue card as an accent colour. I do enjoy a bit of paper embroidery occasionally and because I was fairly sure this card would be kept as a keep sake I decided to do a little in the corners in silver thread. The 'stop' was punched out using a Martha Stewart lace border punch and the butterflies were die cut from a set of dies by Joy! crafting. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Hvd8TN4_p_bLKNmcp1HduI598NSCVbwTRylwkAHh9blUX0hjZttvJfP5V4EofbU0X8vn4HBMUypp8M4e0zw3APsNSqV0BuTl4jpmjc767Kba6i3ZluJN3_idg0WURqU2YzObOCpmyXM/s1600/IMG_2118.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3Hvd8TN4_p_bLKNmcp1HduI598NSCVbwTRylwkAHh9blUX0hjZttvJfP5V4EofbU0X8vn4HBMUypp8M4e0zw3APsNSqV0BuTl4jpmjc767Kba6i3ZluJN3_idg0WURqU2YzObOCpmyXM/s400/IMG_2118.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimPSlnninOSMotOt9ciZUDMUZ-TCfJXbKllNEvlzRf34Hz-IYuNMvoGYc64sKbrmcqbSsdI0Q49lM_-gwji-mjsZ9hD2mWRCpG8qJhyphenhyphentXjTxdTLRfBoCfJf6SRhPkoNpUPoMWXy-Y_Ozc/s1600/IMG_2119.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="234" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimPSlnninOSMotOt9ciZUDMUZ-TCfJXbKllNEvlzRf34Hz-IYuNMvoGYc64sKbrmcqbSsdI0Q49lM_-gwji-mjsZ9hD2mWRCpG8qJhyphenhyphentXjTxdTLRfBoCfJf6SRhPkoNpUPoMWXy-Y_Ozc/s320/IMG_2119.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The image for the second card I made (also an easel, seems to be a current favourite of mine) was printed from the 'Lesley Anne Ivory' CD by Joanna Sheen. Again this CD is another winner in my opinion, as the artwork of Lesley Anne is beautiful, and there are images to cover a multitude of occasions. This card is for my Dad, who is 70 very soon. He's a cat lover and also loves the garden, so I thought this image should appeal to him (fingers crossed!). As well as being fond of paper embroidery, I also love a touch of dry embossing on pearlised card, so I brought out my brass stencils and chose a pretty daisy flower to decorate the sides of the easel. Again a Martha Stewart border punch was used to create a 'stop' for the card. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Hope you've all been keeping well? I came back from the Hobbycraft Show at Birmingham NEC on Thursday with a nice stash of Promarkers and a few rubber stamps :-) I brought 4 more <a href="http://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/">Lili of the Valley</a> cute stamps to add to my growing collection, I think they are such good value at £4 each! Because I just had to get started with my new stamps and pens I made three cards yesterday, two for Mother's day and one for my parents wedding anniversary.<br />
<br />
The anniversary card stamp is called 'Love Grows' and you do get that as a little sentiment with it, but I wanted to use the round anniversary stamp from <a href="http://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/">Lili of the Valley</a> instead. The image is stamped in walnut Distress Ink onto smooth white card and is coloured using Promarkers. The background papers are from Bo Bunny, I've had them in my stash for ages.<br />

I'm terrible, it's been an age again since I blogged but as usual I have been crafting away in the background. My card making seems to have gone in two different directions lately...one way I have been stamping and colouring with brush tip pens to make cute cards and in the other I have been creating some simple to construct designs from pre-brought kits. I find both have their good points: some days I just want to put things together quickly and feel like I'm being productive, so the kits help with that. Then other days I want to take my time and try to make something more detailed and that's where the stamping and brush tip pens come in. I think today I'll show you some of the more detailed cards I have recently made:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVs444T4IeNcU8pzSG56aLv-qw9bdkvqcKdYIB_Ipj9lgq9g6Z5iqIEzmaotHRqPzPL5zp8ZXFk29QOE-WwvZhp2HMg5uUTMP-a_hJcxXdBFOczy36Dl4MGadLuSrPa1vpb7ICeea0p9o/s1600/IMG_1964.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVs444T4IeNcU8pzSG56aLv-qw9bdkvqcKdYIB_Ipj9lgq9g6Z5iqIEzmaotHRqPzPL5zp8ZXFk29QOE-WwvZhp2HMg5uUTMP-a_hJcxXdBFOczy36Dl4MGadLuSrPa1vpb7ICeea0p9o/s400/IMG_1964.jpg" width="313" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfc30KmmQ66W8azm4qNBFd67UJ-ld9hRRkH7OliEX1vFm7SpaolZPQ5qso2ZebJB3EdMtXXPHQJmO77dhLtsfqlM_C9TAOp4FUwuOFPZPe7HToUaah1WTQCwzjhvQJfRn_s7kO4KmCgDo/s1600/IMG_1968.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfc30KmmQ66W8azm4qNBFd67UJ-ld9hRRkH7OliEX1vFm7SpaolZPQ5qso2ZebJB3EdMtXXPHQJmO77dhLtsfqlM_C9TAOp4FUwuOFPZPe7HToUaah1WTQCwzjhvQJfRn_s7kO4KmCgDo/s320/IMG_1968.jpg" width="273" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnzskBwPxtNdVZhqNFP5cxqelqA369qn2WezEiVNMdxqI1BmXeh4MfR1A9_JOv9F_vXKS3NbP7D0ztVrRGcNiw10BDGz3otwBs32mK9GVGNlhQhhS3cN03J7eo0KxFGvqa968Hb9_7jNo/s1600/IMG_1966.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnzskBwPxtNdVZhqNFP5cxqelqA369qn2WezEiVNMdxqI1BmXeh4MfR1A9_JOv9F_vXKS3NbP7D0ztVrRGcNiw10BDGz3otwBs32mK9GVGNlhQhhS3cN03J7eo0KxFGvqa968Hb9_7jNo/s400/IMG_1966.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXMzRhw-9fgOMd3TtndiViFxs-KSRRjvAnWncqv9TJ_RX2k6R4hODbYHrjHEXVMmkII3t-Kf95L-l2DWdEi-nJIjUIaelD5UBA7CibSFPr-1dqQhVIhtOrmG7pnAOAj4r-X_rlGCKF4mg/s1600/IMG_1967.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXMzRhw-9fgOMd3TtndiViFxs-KSRRjvAnWncqv9TJ_RX2k6R4hODbYHrjHEXVMmkII3t-Kf95L-l2DWdEi-nJIjUIaelD5UBA7CibSFPr-1dqQhVIhtOrmG7pnAOAj4r-X_rlGCKF4mg/s320/IMG_1967.jpg" width="273" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The above two cards were made for twin girls on their 4th birthday. The stamps are from <a href="http://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/">Lili of the Valley</a>, I have completely fallen in love with their entire range of pretty, cute stamps! I stamped them onto 160gsm watercolour paper and coloured them with 'Whisper' brush tip pens. I am thinking of investing in either some Promarkers or Copics if I continue with this style of card (probably Promarkers as they are cheaper!). The lilac card was decorated with some random handmade papers that I'd had lurking in my stash for ages, but the paper on the yellow card was made using a cuttlebug embossing folder, several different inks pads and some finger tip blending sponges...it was fun to blend the colours together.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhusLpjEsT0w1VIBpQip9ovMhT1GXjxd0LsJmV9oHLFQmIpH0Lx_roqjXxbHkrgNcOmXpvwqWGtaTl6wvHGoJNMeKeeqXtEI7_H-R8sA44P5rUvOH-DfeB74m1Ur4uf6ihiENnQ7I77QNQ/s1600/IMG_1973.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhusLpjEsT0w1VIBpQip9ovMhT1GXjxd0LsJmV9oHLFQmIpH0Lx_roqjXxbHkrgNcOmXpvwqWGtaTl6wvHGoJNMeKeeqXtEI7_H-R8sA44P5rUvOH-DfeB74m1Ur4uf6ihiENnQ7I77QNQ/s400/IMG_1973.jpg" width="302" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjy55NpNKvsK2U7LaWsh_v-xKc_C_NL7hSLxZg3FVyhyphenhyphenuwTh38yczSODugypsj24u2_gvNYpE1NClQYuMFhK0Cizb0e9D8vN0a0YDubUs2R94ZMHCuKyyw5OAbL1keGI_X-GDR_jY6q0I/s1600/IMG_1975.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjy55NpNKvsK2U7LaWsh_v-xKc_C_NL7hSLxZg3FVyhyphenhyphenuwTh38yczSODugypsj24u2_gvNYpE1NClQYuMFhK0Cizb0e9D8vN0a0YDubUs2R94ZMHCuKyyw5OAbL1keGI_X-GDR_jY6q0I/s320/IMG_1975.jpg" width="245" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoAVn5AujSisKHXeMtZywivUBY6XA3uBpZaax2DmKGEdqfhHU-r4qgDnJd-oyaVVck9DeSQ0MJyji7UcUrubbbaHMY0-CivhSFPOVRX6HsZhSBGLC2kucDMAVYDlTvMOnNIJ3-GAdxB0E/s1600/IMG_1977.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoAVn5AujSisKHXeMtZywivUBY6XA3uBpZaax2DmKGEdqfhHU-r4qgDnJd-oyaVVck9DeSQ0MJyji7UcUrubbbaHMY0-CivhSFPOVRX6HsZhSBGLC2kucDMAVYDlTvMOnNIJ3-GAdxB0E/s400/IMG_1977.jpg" width="296" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8rCba0FQAoY1-y34S_lflkS3x_-pq6oWDq02nAiIICpD81wcr9atdsFgfuGa9LfkYMRo0ew8VLCRbYAvHXTCu7bEyueyshkBMWwv5mNLK3OeXyYplogDUn9H4IqwYuvQSY_-6U5Z4o3o/s1600/IMG_1985.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="335" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8rCba0FQAoY1-y34S_lflkS3x_-pq6oWDq02nAiIICpD81wcr9atdsFgfuGa9LfkYMRo0ew8VLCRbYAvHXTCu7bEyueyshkBMWwv5mNLK3OeXyYplogDUn9H4IqwYuvQSY_-6U5Z4o3o/s400/IMG_1985.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I couldn't resist these sweet Forever Friends Easter themed stamps when I saw them recently and decided to use them for the small batch I'll make for this year. There are other images in the set, which I'm going to use next, but this bear with his hot cross buns is my favourite, so I used him first :-) Again the image is stamped onto 160gsm watercolour paper and coloured with 'Whisper' brush tip pens. The flower is made from a die by Marianne Creatables and is one of their 'ribbon flower' designs as there is a slot punched into the top petals that you can thread a narrow ribbon through. I finished them off with a Dovecrafts jewel brad in the centre. The background papers are from the same range as the stamps and all are made by Papermania.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhto-TAOkkgdamzc7Y_RXPY9CXLH2CDz1SeMLEvM5OPCbGKYexhjrShOcVsYN7YSVYf_KW7VBC0oixnjZ6MQp-CnJMp-SAae85P06swW-PAu-ZmAl_6R4YqhdSmQgqNZq_u3nQt5BeR4t8/s1600/IMG_1998.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="368" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhto-TAOkkgdamzc7Y_RXPY9CXLH2CDz1SeMLEvM5OPCbGKYexhjrShOcVsYN7YSVYf_KW7VBC0oixnjZ6MQp-CnJMp-SAae85P06swW-PAu-ZmAl_6R4YqhdSmQgqNZq_u3nQt5BeR4t8/s400/IMG_1998.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Another card made using a stamp from Lili of the Valley, I think these two little girls having tea together are adorable! The card is 8"x8" and layered with card from Papermania and papers from the Laura Ashley range, the flower is a Prima craft one. The wide crocheted lace border is something I've had for a very long time, my Great Auntie gave it to me many years ago and it was still bundled up with a price tag of shillings and pence on it, so you know that it is at least 40 years old...practicaly an antique, a bit like myself ;-) I punched the bottom of the cream card layer with a Martha Stewart lace border punch to add interest, and gave it a couple of small square buttons to finish. I really enjoyed making this card and I think that my colouring is improving...I hope so anyway! This one is for sale at my Dreamaid shop <a href="http://www.dreamaid.com/store/BlackdoveDesigns">here</a>.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitTCj_t12mpLpvY18X1g8OaQ6JWp0Bneg_XRe4IKJPrPfvmGBHzIPl3KkAdU8L_F3-Qc5SbzKvrkz-XLmBm8RBU_RbSWqHOS8Ca26-kKnmB9cpJ41NOAPrCRxSl3sywDFcatboXqdI7Hg/s1600/IMG_1997.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitTCj_t12mpLpvY18X1g8OaQ6JWp0Bneg_XRe4IKJPrPfvmGBHzIPl3KkAdU8L_F3-Qc5SbzKvrkz-XLmBm8RBU_RbSWqHOS8Ca26-kKnmB9cpJ41NOAPrCRxSl3sywDFcatboXqdI7Hg/s320/IMG_1997.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I'll leave it here for now, and hopefully I'll be back sooner next time. <br />
I have been crafting, but mostly on a quick and simple level. Here are the results:<br />

I brought 'Walk in Wonderland' from My Craft Studio a good while back, made a few cards from it but wasn't overly impressed at the printing results. Well now we have a different printer that lets you print to a very high dots per inch and along with that I have been using different types of papers to print on e.g. vellum, pearlescent, acetate and I've come to appreciate the results much more. With that in mind I've brought a couple of other discs, 'Ivory Cats' and 'Victorian Fairies & Angels' both from Joanna Sheen and 'A little bit of folk' from My Craft Studios, all courtesy of ebay ;-)<br />

It isn't as easy to use as the 'Enchanted' one from Card Creations Plus but there are some nice images on it that make up into pretty cards. Anyway here are my latest few makes:<br />

There are some amazing faery artists out there: <a href="http://www.worldoffroud.com/index.html">Brian Froud</a>, <a href="http://www.amybrownart.com/">Amy Brown</a>, <a href="http://www.enchanted-art.com/">Jessica Galbreth</a> and <a href="http://www.lindaravenscroft.com/">Linda Ravenscroft</a> being amongst my favourites. Last week on Create and Craft TV they launched a new CD ROM of Linda Ravenscroft's art full of printable designs for card making, so of course I had to buy it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Y_NaAUQ-KMXKCjxWNgz0itFZS8coL-cFUgjvtZxVQ9yCrMCbLQbxS1l1-GIfqL63YolfizfG5TL9RMtmuNHjYF9QtLrNx8UhTdoC2piCOP0ncK5BF0HjT288tpy9hICBVW3JeTDEZ2w/s1600/cddisccovercopy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Y_NaAUQ-KMXKCjxWNgz0itFZS8coL-cFUgjvtZxVQ9yCrMCbLQbxS1l1-GIfqL63YolfizfG5TL9RMtmuNHjYF9QtLrNx8UhTdoC2piCOP0ncK5BF0HjT288tpy9hICBVW3JeTDEZ2w/s200/cddisccovercopy.jpg" width="156" /></a></div>Linda has a very distinct style of faery art and you can tell she is very influenced by the Art Nouveau movement (my most favourite style of art).<br />

She especially like the 'Dream' card I made a few weeks ago:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKUM5b69N9_1CegrKzLZBlbaaxZf5U2ywv-VTAZhdxPNjqS_mS_DXhuHPMfa-sIJOk32eNKfEb6lA1a8A0WbP7tPDG0VqovMxm_unWegC4UbmFtv9SvTF5McCufu9fK9-VQ0I4j92I41s/s1600/IMG_1532.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKUM5b69N9_1CegrKzLZBlbaaxZf5U2ywv-VTAZhdxPNjqS_mS_DXhuHPMfa-sIJOk32eNKfEb6lA1a8A0WbP7tPDG0VqovMxm_unWegC4UbmFtv9SvTF5McCufu9fK9-VQ0I4j92I41s/s200/IMG_1532.jpg" width="151" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So with this in mind I used four different stamps from the two plates and made a total of eight note cards, two of each design.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf5cdozFwZycYQNSTOq4OwURUkQKouzXUf6okDZnHOtui1pc2FJcxQ4k8UYVIbgo0uBZVQZFUvtRzJL6MCnXUEI5nzxhL-YIAEDBluUN4EYxAPII6i6eRCjdcj3i8T_qGrOLTGiXU8zdU/s1600/IMG_1709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="118" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf5cdozFwZycYQNSTOq4OwURUkQKouzXUf6okDZnHOtui1pc2FJcxQ4k8UYVIbgo0uBZVQZFUvtRzJL6MCnXUEI5nzxhL-YIAEDBluUN4EYxAPII6i6eRCjdcj3i8T_qGrOLTGiXU8zdU/s320/IMG_1709.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I decided to make them A6 in size, as most note cards usually are and also to keep the costs down for shipment to the USA. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcIVx2yQNvofq6NvEld5GyPJlcvwSAwr5DifsdxkXgmOhQwX4IaCi7zivuqHcVPmarsBnjpjDPYSkFI3Lx-0flpiRYudyxp-bdXk7PbzNhZna_JJ5ZszQPxQ_MNAQEGKc7yh_gBI4gWRY/s1600/IMG_1713.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcIVx2yQNvofq6NvEld5GyPJlcvwSAwr5DifsdxkXgmOhQwX4IaCi7zivuqHcVPmarsBnjpjDPYSkFI3Lx-0flpiRYudyxp-bdXk7PbzNhZna_JJ5ZszQPxQ_MNAQEGKc7yh_gBI4gWRY/s320/IMG_1713.jpg" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The main images were stamped using Stazon ink in 'Stone Grey' onto watercolour paper, which has a slightly textured surface. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga8y-SbP0ta1aS5kXKGvY9Tfd66agoFx-YVqGmUPUFeXikvXlxoosTdepROd9PpGP8-TGNAD3nkXMBD-U4bZzTcV6ai4i1mRwD8-UFWiQxETIZWi8HDWR6Zj10NPf-_n_lYhyuuSfVkUw/s1600/IMG_1712.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga8y-SbP0ta1aS5kXKGvY9Tfd66agoFx-YVqGmUPUFeXikvXlxoosTdepROd9PpGP8-TGNAD3nkXMBD-U4bZzTcV6ai4i1mRwD8-UFWiQxETIZWi8HDWR6Zj10NPf-_n_lYhyuuSfVkUw/s320/IMG_1712.jpg" width="243" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I water coloured them using Distress inks and then accented them here and there with Perfect Pearls in Interference colours. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIF1mC5s_tZa-4TY1cbg7jVtZkXJ71DpmGxtXiPO1vXLHuOa5Rakpern_rQGIalaeIj9Dpex_NBNGFzSAusFuc2mCms-_fNwNPDbZGygXARzlM9ZwpF985xkGCf4sBLc78io-v8w_RAtw/s1600/IMG_1690.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIF1mC5s_tZa-4TY1cbg7jVtZkXJ71DpmGxtXiPO1vXLHuOa5Rakpern_rQGIalaeIj9Dpex_NBNGFzSAusFuc2mCms-_fNwNPDbZGygXARzlM9ZwpF985xkGCf4sBLc78io-v8w_RAtw/s320/IMG_1690.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The birds were heat embossed using Elusive Images stamps and coloured with Distress Inks. I cut them out and mounted them on a plain matt on top of a patterned background. All the papers are from Anna Griffin. A simple 'Happy Birthday' greeting finished it off, husband likes the simpler style of card :-)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMCIwvRiLPKEUe_S883XjQ3TYQRQgnOOSEwZxB5P_xw3QWT7SEce4IsWVWAqDC8gouuEbIKheJHLzbQfhius1dT974lRoreVhmYql9VcQNf143cSBj94dHr0QJ7xq1SgSYI8aBFcD7rTc/s1600/IMG_1692.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMCIwvRiLPKEUe_S883XjQ3TYQRQgnOOSEwZxB5P_xw3QWT7SEce4IsWVWAqDC8gouuEbIKheJHLzbQfhius1dT974lRoreVhmYql9VcQNf143cSBj94dHr0QJ7xq1SgSYI8aBFcD7rTc/s200/IMG_1692.jpg" width="150" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">A close up of the embossed birds.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As a little extra something I also made him a grungeboard bookmark. Sized 6" by 2" you can get several of them from one piece of grungeboard, I think they make a nice small girft. I coloured this one with 'Bundled Sage' Distress ink, stamped a text/script image in 'Weathered Wood', then a Sanskrit Proverb from Elusive Images in 'Broken China'. To finish I stamped a clock face from Crafty Individuals and a penny farthing bike from Tala Stamps, both in 'Peeled Paint'. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMINkDdTV4MHNg3K5b0jotWN6qIbXcvXSgmQ1AmCzmb2vKqsPQ4EON87xyYWOwqHf7ZYnUW-qur77Winv-XRyPDS-vBDCg6KUsY3shVJhuNsAgKGTQPFNiog0O6ieC-UVyaCynm9U5bzA/s1600/IMG_1689.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMINkDdTV4MHNg3K5b0jotWN6qIbXcvXSgmQ1AmCzmb2vKqsPQ4EON87xyYWOwqHf7ZYnUW-qur77Winv-XRyPDS-vBDCg6KUsY3shVJhuNsAgKGTQPFNiog0O6ieC-UVyaCynm9U5bzA/s320/IMG_1689.jpg" width="103" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRQMLnBtnRpFB-vf0Xj3bpdbYjBxsi-GZo8kuUCQTm8WJtuYPWFoMgdXtLZN-uoVvzwzSMoVNgoaLb0ByhQcae54Py3EGWkjO-m3-d5qUeVfn6VIokctsgVWXWjliR1iKRzhL95cfw08c/s1600/IMG_1688.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRQMLnBtnRpFB-vf0Xj3bpdbYjBxsi-GZo8kuUCQTm8WJtuYPWFoMgdXtLZN-uoVvzwzSMoVNgoaLb0ByhQcae54Py3EGWkjO-m3-d5qUeVfn6VIokctsgVWXWjliR1iKRzhL95cfw08c/s320/IMG_1688.jpg" width="158" /></a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thank you for looking!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sarah x</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Well today I have been baking cupcakes for a small tea party I'm having for my friend's birthday tomorrow, so I have a spare half hour to upload my recent creations.<br />
<br />
This is an invite I made for the aforementioned tea party. I haven't seen my friend for a while and I felt that we needed a girls only afternoon to catch up with each other, and a tea party seemed like a nice idea (I am obsessed with cake!).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFebTNRnrQ9dlH2sGqCIhwRqBoXwe8kFv4DIFEuJXKqpM2W-hL7rOih2MC7ZXTTjQmjVZWKFXe09llWaXvSqJYAemwv3wWCfpwbUKGjmeuvlzqHjnkCyyDvQhpF_0jXAiT_lSnUAa-msM/s1600/IMG_1656.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFebTNRnrQ9dlH2sGqCIhwRqBoXwe8kFv4DIFEuJXKqpM2W-hL7rOih2MC7ZXTTjQmjVZWKFXe09llWaXvSqJYAemwv3wWCfpwbUKGjmeuvlzqHjnkCyyDvQhpF_0jXAiT_lSnUAa-msM/s320/IMG_1656.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The main image is from a stamp by <a href="http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/cgi-bin/shop_products.cgi?390">Crafty Individuals</a> which I stamped with Stayzon onto card that I'd coloured with pearlised pink ink. The background is another<a href="http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/cgi-bin/shop_products.cgi?388"> Crafty Individuals stamp</a> with a Tea Time theme: I stamped directly onto the cream base card with 'Antique Linen' Distress ink. It was finished off with two layers of ribbon, some gems and a cute flower shaped button.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTzZAWMVUDG2zK50USMS_U_TqvPsN-6Y7Qc_KOQJofuQ-RUxqrD8X9qvnbaPLQYHVLItnhZaCUCzTkBS-Cy6Kt43OTxPNkdvBTjCBBR7gQB9b_iyVjKUHIKwi1O4zJDPHbojkVp1KmQ0/s1600/IMG_1666.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTzZAWMVUDG2zK50USMS_U_TqvPsN-6Y7Qc_KOQJofuQ-RUxqrD8X9qvnbaPLQYHVLItnhZaCUCzTkBS-Cy6Kt43OTxPNkdvBTjCBBR7gQB9b_iyVjKUHIKwi1O4zJDPHbojkVp1KmQ0/s320/IMG_1666.jpg" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmOxp_COcYr6lgREU20J_SCiXQIvA8n3ErahVnkp1ndU2SfxhKcD5YWdkpGV2Iv2euzIpz8aRYFi3q8kYQwNr8neDo2JwZQII-5k4ojsuzJf9Q_wKjMFgkqqLseHRiReoDFTIgxBw1Ug8/s1600/IMG_1665.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmOxp_COcYr6lgREU20J_SCiXQIvA8n3ErahVnkp1ndU2SfxhKcD5YWdkpGV2Iv2euzIpz8aRYFi3q8kYQwNr8neDo2JwZQII-5k4ojsuzJf9Q_wKjMFgkqqLseHRiReoDFTIgxBw1Ug8/s320/IMG_1665.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For her birthday card I created another version of the 'Dream' card I made a few weeks ago. I made one in exactly the same colours and this blue and green version too. I love these Elusive Images stamps so much, they always give such an artistic feel to anything you make with them. The background is stamped with Distress inks and the butterfly is coloured with pencils and a watercolour brush, with some Perfect Pearl accents.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1ZfZrz-O0j5aaJrZxxBOut5sMf37n5QHVlOfc9ofdAdNPLQCvLpVMjJXMa2j99C1LWjnD_PV0tkjTT6DppyIafqD3HsbIwK-BTz1fyVEY87E_a3eSGnUM16cpglr36j4y_Ag_t-d9xpQ/s1600/IMG_1653.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="183" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1ZfZrz-O0j5aaJrZxxBOut5sMf37n5QHVlOfc9ofdAdNPLQCvLpVMjJXMa2j99C1LWjnD_PV0tkjTT6DppyIafqD3HsbIwK-BTz1fyVEY87E_a3eSGnUM16cpglr36j4y_Ag_t-d9xpQ/s200/IMG_1653.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sarah xx</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It's my Mother-In-Laws 65th birthday next week and of course I was commissioned to make her birthday card by my husband, he never has to bother choosing cards anymore now I make them all :-) I know my Mother-In-Law is fonder of a more traditional style of card, and with this in mind I decided to make a decoupage from a Duflex kit of Art Nouveau images, all of which are from Alphonse Mucha paintings (he is my favourite artist, I adore his work). Here's the result:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7Mpeho_a1yvJeK507GhqrbNkodLWZaEKeMPjIjzx2pzT-P0S1vFXoRJhrg_DydCUyJcYUN0BidN_EkgXPZjsLBSAr99AQjkuymuVYI74M0e8w31zLUKK2Se-Of426owscK2E2dElssr4/s1600/IMG_1643.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7Mpeho_a1yvJeK507GhqrbNkodLWZaEKeMPjIjzx2pzT-P0S1vFXoRJhrg_DydCUyJcYUN0BidN_EkgXPZjsLBSAr99AQjkuymuVYI74M0e8w31zLUKK2Se-Of426owscK2E2dElssr4/s320/IMG_1643.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have to admit that it wasn't hard work to create, the images are all die cut, you just have to pop them out from the design sheet and trim them up a little to make them neater. They are a little fiddly though, some of the layers are really tiny. Here's an angled close up, so you can see the layers:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtVWBu3gOa9ZcDTr472m9mNlaVE4Wn9IhLTCirKjPdGefQjMazYv83HGuZr6GGXd6DHk2AZ6BKw7HRMUOSEUsFckqcMA_RYosOgokuQqz-R7hSXxb1uOrZN7oaQXot0VcQZ1sRkjD0mOg/s1600/IMG_1644.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtVWBu3gOa9ZcDTr472m9mNlaVE4Wn9IhLTCirKjPdGefQjMazYv83HGuZr6GGXd6DHk2AZ6BKw7HRMUOSEUsFckqcMA_RYosOgokuQqz-R7hSXxb1uOrZN7oaQXot0VcQZ1sRkjD0mOg/s320/IMG_1644.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Also this weekend I decided to take part in two challenges. One was as part of the Graphicus Guild, with a very basic green theme and the other was at the <a href="http://www.katzelkraft.fr/lang-en/">Katzelkraft</a> challenge blog '<a href="http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&langpair=fr%7Cen&u=http://leskatzmaniaques.blogspot.com/&rurl=www.google.com&twu=1&usg=ALkJrhhedb1JuXxWojmeBZknacYuC57Nmg">Katzmania</a>' following a design layout for a card. To make things easier I decided to roll both challenges into one card, using the Katzmania layout and the green Graphicus theme. Cheating? I'm not sure ;-) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxBARIUSBaaOP7PQpWbUx5ntPs3u-ilMpgpfE4d-N1ygBk0Pqe3ESN83D6ZwxZA1tLT7BwZ50pX2cQJsWcrI9zDEfKwxm2zQbQRmh-w2YPZEIWHCz0psinEK6Wx0tEucey37eZs2Ianp8/s1600/IMG_1648.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxBARIUSBaaOP7PQpWbUx5ntPs3u-ilMpgpfE4d-N1ygBk0Pqe3ESN83D6ZwxZA1tLT7BwZ50pX2cQJsWcrI9zDEfKwxm2zQbQRmh-w2YPZEIWHCz0psinEK6Wx0tEucey37eZs2Ianp8/s320/IMG_1648.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's the design template from Katzmania, I think I followed it closely enough:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIKa0e6kBT47DgKI87kuPOerhsEz-vO3PZnzx_e7PrZM2Vkt4s2xP6BZkYmT-j8Ek0U6Yr0iQXEWAjx8flVSig_lZ3JF3XRD3JfBjH7EGU1jF4n4NgLK9ddVf5KenQj5g0qKK1LU8jf3Y/s1600/june10-5x7c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIKa0e6kBT47DgKI87kuPOerhsEz-vO3PZnzx_e7PrZM2Vkt4s2xP6BZkYmT-j8Ek0U6Yr0iQXEWAjx8flVSig_lZ3JF3XRD3JfBjH7EGU1jF4n4NgLK9ddVf5KenQj5g0qKK1LU8jf3Y/s200/june10-5x7c.jpg" width="142" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The stamps are from Elusive Images, the peacock was cut out using my Cuttlebug. The feathered background was made by stamping Versamark ink on black card and then dusting Perfect Pearls over the top, it's quite pretty when it catches the light.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I'm going to use the card for a friends birthday later this month, I hope she likes green!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sarah x</div>Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02525966425687690238noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6696665955008869473.post-2018652209677716462010-09-03T12:18:00.000+01:002010-09-03T12:18:00.627+01:00Elephant birthday cardIt's been an interesting few days for me, craft wise, although I haven't actually made much I have been busy with other things crafty. <div><br />
</div><div>Last week I decided to take the plunge with two things, firstly I joined the <a href="http://www.graphicus.co.uk/product/105/membership--renewal.htm">Graphicus Guild</a>. <a href="http://www.graphicus.co.uk/">Graphicus</a> is the website owned by <a href="http://glendawaterworth.com/">Glenda Waterworth</a>, of Elusive Images rubber stamps fame, there she runs a 'guild' for people who love to stamp. It's a great value package of a binder with a monthly news letter (full of inspiration and product info) and when you subscribe you get the choice of an A4 stamp plate. I have several of the Elusive Images sets already, so this time I decided to pick the <a href="http://www.graphicus.co.uk/product/166/ua4gw0157/paisley-elephant-unmounted-stamp-sheet---a4.html">Paisley Elephant</a> set:<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.graphicus.co.uk/product/166/ua4gw0157/paisley-elephant-unmounted-stamp-sheet---a4.html"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoC7OpVikqti0xwkUBRECHkh0Jul36YmWZgTYwNpPpXmiuH0JBwH8KvoIosl-GzoPp32rHZysoSftJlwnGrIF2tpJk9dMevXkozy-Bj8T8d4yyBoFBGGNlPagoFmae48O-4oCRq1VnuiU/s200/Elephant.jpg" width="142" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I thought that it would be a good set to make some different cards for males, as I always seem to struggle with cards for the guys! With that thought in mind I made my brothers birthday card using this new set yesterday and here is the result:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ9k6O7eoeuD1pIICVZtOGda8RwslfMA757to59Q-Iv1ASD7iBn1TQOUO5_NHt9oC0JRWbpGnwlNpVLewXvfoOaHGC9HoXDPklCAjQBrG7uuHHyzpvfhl0mmiPZo_2xgu900Ifp4X8vLI/s1600/IMG_1639.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ9k6O7eoeuD1pIICVZtOGda8RwslfMA757to59Q-Iv1ASD7iBn1TQOUO5_NHt9oC0JRWbpGnwlNpVLewXvfoOaHGC9HoXDPklCAjQBrG7uuHHyzpvfhl0mmiPZo_2xgu900Ifp4X8vLI/s400/IMG_1639.jpg" width="305" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The papers I used were Anna Griffin and the brad was a Papermania 'make your own brad'. The ink I used on the background was Oregano from Adirondack, I thought it gave a nice tone-on-tone effect with the green paper. The elephant was stamped on cream card with Timber brown Stayzon ink and coloured with watercolour pencils using a Koi water brush. I accented his saddle with some Perfect Pearls here and there. I finished it off with a gold embossed 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, I just love the style of that text!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3gikx2HIpaP89iJAegiKoTS3DK0PeKATMOFf8onfO4l-KRKe4VQNLRRHqML3fUPFCzCx4orJMxikK5hGFSQEbppXnIgB_hcag0X6GuA5xjb1beOFkOVkh7_6mabjgKkzC3GrcGKZydK4/s1600/IMG_1641.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3gikx2HIpaP89iJAegiKoTS3DK0PeKATMOFf8onfO4l-KRKe4VQNLRRHqML3fUPFCzCx4orJMxikK5hGFSQEbppXnIgB_hcag0X6GuA5xjb1beOFkOVkh7_6mabjgKkzC3GrcGKZydK4/s320/IMG_1641.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The second thing I did last week was to join an online course, also run by <a href="http://glendawaterworth.com/">Glenda Waterworth</a>, at <a href="http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com/">My Creative Classroom</a>. She's running two courses there and the first one, which starts this month, is a <a href="http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com/course/category.php?id=18">basics of rubber stamping class</a>. I thought I'd have a go as it's not very expensive and I am entirely self taught, so far, and I thought maybe there would be a few things I could pick up along the way. The second course starts in October and I'll be joining that too as it will be about more <a href="http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com/course/category.php?id=18">advanced techniques</a> of stamping, which I know will prove useful to me :-)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hopefully I'll post again tomorrow as I have my Mother-In-Law's birthday card to make this afternoon.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sarah x</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div><br />

Sorry I've been MIA for a while, had a busy couple of weekends with people stopping over , so unfortunately there was no time for crafting. Back to normal this week and today I've created three ATCs for an organised swap I take part in every month at <a href="http://addictedtoatcs.blogspot.com/">http://addictedtoatcs.blogspot.com/</a> This months theme was 'Make a spash' and I decided to make a sea shore themed set. Here they are:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDn8rZeDAAVs3qKoFoRrBDVWLZq0UfqceNEz0BAVft3Sg0DkC-Au4Xgq7HrpXYP14CRVPWraOrWZAdYalvecBW6IlXkVVZDl-6L-J71q7q45T5QzY4dWsZdYlG-6XNSSIFI5iJenxKm6Q/s1600/IMG_1627.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="115" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDn8rZeDAAVs3qKoFoRrBDVWLZq0UfqceNEz0BAVft3Sg0DkC-Au4Xgq7HrpXYP14CRVPWraOrWZAdYalvecBW6IlXkVVZDl-6L-J71q7q45T5QzY4dWsZdYlG-6XNSSIFI5iJenxKm6Q/s400/IMG_1627.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used some lovely new paper I brought last week from <a href="http://www.graphicus.co.uk/pages/default.aspx">Elusive Images </a> which I tore around the edges to try and get the effect of waves on the beach. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE8kGR4RDvlL-Lxd4BdpHU414VTuo1i5GpT3T-hKskCK7KFgHTZCMMZyCHwrlIiZXd4UWivSf_F-5Q1zxw0AXq4RwmcVc2OlwwIkVxU9dcCTeWDUFdiZp0ftH1YY0OxoihfAG3VcGeFLI/s1600/IMG_1633.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE8kGR4RDvlL-Lxd4BdpHU414VTuo1i5GpT3T-hKskCK7KFgHTZCMMZyCHwrlIiZXd4UWivSf_F-5Q1zxw0AXq4RwmcVc2OlwwIkVxU9dcCTeWDUFdiZp0ftH1YY0OxoihfAG3VcGeFLI/s320/IMG_1633.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Each stamped image was coloured with Distress Inks and then covered with clear crackle paint to give texture. I've had lots of house work to do this past two days but I managed yesterday afternoon to take a break from it and fit in a bit of crafting instead ;-) I know a lot of crafters start in July to make their Christmas cards but I have just not been able to contemplate Christmas in the summer, until now! Maybe because the weather has gone downhill, very rainy and overcast here this week, and maybe because Create & Craft tv channel has gone all Christmas too I was inspired to make my first batch. These ones aren't for my close relatives and special friends, they'll just be for colleagues and neighbors so I decided to make them all the same and to keep it simple.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGnQUJaMBENGKUi2TB3Zw1fcRk2qAUlezqYjI9C5LC3SxbM7xx0yqcYjvT7ISDs6GdLonLDIO0vuhI5xmXf0HngtsMdG1GDLJF6uxQng9ffn3pCWn25nfyC0sJRAh8-3DWpa9PEV1gCvE/s1600/IMG_1618.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGnQUJaMBENGKUi2TB3Zw1fcRk2qAUlezqYjI9C5LC3SxbM7xx0yqcYjvT7ISDs6GdLonLDIO0vuhI5xmXf0HngtsMdG1GDLJF6uxQng9ffn3pCWn25nfyC0sJRAh8-3DWpa9PEV1gCvE/s400/IMG_1618.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Unfortunately I've found it hard to take a detailed photo of them, as the pearlised card doesn't show up too well with the flash on and there's not much bright daylight today to show it up either, oh well!</span> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Using a metal embossing stencil from Papermania I ran it through my Cuttlebug machine with some thin pearlised white card, I trimmed it down and used a curved corner punch. This was then layered onto some thicker lilac pearlised card mounted on a textured A6 base card and embellished with peel offs, crystals and some punched out snowflakes. I also added an insert to each card with a Christmas greeting inside. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRDpvIsI8bLvsxJQaUrYlEkox8-l68Z9vB8AEZtFa4N-1CYA9z9b9WlcdA_jTbRtqXWJq7FKsXPYYayJ-4oFnD6e9njY61Bb7tuTlRh1Nbe5r4R3SlR9s5CuPisu_VFDjp3ETk32tw0GA/s1600/IMG_1619.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRDpvIsI8bLvsxJQaUrYlEkox8-l68Z9vB8AEZtFa4N-1CYA9z9b9WlcdA_jTbRtqXWJq7FKsXPYYayJ-4oFnD6e9njY61Bb7tuTlRh1Nbe5r4R3SlR9s5CuPisu_VFDjp3ETk32tw0GA/s400/IMG_1619.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I really enjoyed making something simple and uncomplicated, which helped me produce a batch of 10 cards towards the Christmas stash. I'll have to pop out and get some more card blanks as I have to make another 30 or so 'every day' xmas cards as well as the special ones for family if I am to make everything this year...which is my intention, wish me luck! :-)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />

<br />
To make up for lost time I've been making something a little more intricate today, it's also something new to me too...a slide mailer. I'd had the blank for a couple of months now and today I was inspired to decorate mine after reading this months '<a href="http://www.stampington.com/html/the_stampers__sampler.html">Stampers Sampler</a>'.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg42el2NBdE2ZUgxEzItclpZOLmXNDe6rXjYWZETMlHETOYPHUQAeOsGQDDIgZcBB5fjHMUDRyvb4m-gdJqIeli046nMw4oT9jdps9GOnxGhN-mthSPTmFhZ1JgXMwBcVeqQ7p3CPHqMBY/s1600/slide-mailer-double.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="147" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg42el2NBdE2ZUgxEzItclpZOLmXNDe6rXjYWZETMlHETOYPHUQAeOsGQDDIgZcBB5fjHMUDRyvb4m-gdJqIeli046nMw4oT9jdps9GOnxGhN-mthSPTmFhZ1JgXMwBcVeqQ7p3CPHqMBY/s200/slide-mailer-double.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I decided to go with a vintage post theme as I had some cute tiny acrylic stamps and some rub-ons in that theme. First painted the cardboard mailer in white acrylic paint, after it had dried I glued various papers to the front and back covers and inside. I then stamped swirls onto the papers with a flourish stamp using Distress ink in 'Antique Linen'. After that I stamped various postage and Parisian themed stamps using Distress ink 'Brushed corduroy' and rub-ons to decorate the front and back.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

These were stamped onto the glass using Stazon in grey. I glued paper behind the glass using Glossy accents (it makes amazing glue!) To finish them off I used gold embossing powder to create a faux soldering effect on the edges of the glass. I decided that if I wanted to display the mailer with the cover open I would have to fix the glass slides into the backing in some way. I didn't want it to be a permanent fix so I used some tiny magnet closer attachments from Papermania. That way I'd be able to take the slides out, leave the cover open if I wished and I can also use the slides as fridge magnets too!</div><br />

I knew I had a small list of things to create by this Friday so my two days off work were ideal to get started with them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9fN1cnrVrEUeKc1MO5BAe6jpK8NvsY8ZGs9-Dx_yOYQ8AtRmHPXLPvD82YiD31_xVIMEmjSk-RNrQ_BKu6BW6wkMPMPZp3wxCDcvR4dmnp8UiqoAwi9th7OpNKtqS_mpCFp7jtE_YbK4/s1600/IMG_1538.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="207" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9fN1cnrVrEUeKc1MO5BAe6jpK8NvsY8ZGs9-Dx_yOYQ8AtRmHPXLPvD82YiD31_xVIMEmjSk-RNrQ_BKu6BW6wkMPMPZp3wxCDcvR4dmnp8UiqoAwi9th7OpNKtqS_mpCFp7jtE_YbK4/s400/IMG_1538.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">First project was a 40th birthday card for my friend Pip. I decided to use one of the 'Beautiful ladies' stamps, which I heat embossed using a pearlised powder in an Amethyst colour, I then used a combination of my Big and Juicy ink pad in 'Hydrangea' and Distress inks in 'Antique Linen' and 'Brushed corduroy' to colour in the image, highlighting the flowers with some perfect pearls. This was then layered up with a K&Co paper from the 'Mira' range onto a card base from Inspire me papers. The brad in the centre of the fabric flowers was made using the Papermania brad making kit which I picked up in the sale a Hobby Craft a few weeks back.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqz7Pz_maVBEp89DInSTdMe39QfgCVhPcxcK94VeCr0SFc5OmrbUr0Vtd3AsMd3uQjcf9FdZ6CuTYTwJ2Q5JBxZlWKUs8bDfMLqU2pv9iQhwebZTTis4mLAhBK8PNpmHq4SBqTinH6Lwc/s1600/IMG_1528.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqz7Pz_maVBEp89DInSTdMe39QfgCVhPcxcK94VeCr0SFc5OmrbUr0Vtd3AsMd3uQjcf9FdZ6CuTYTwJ2Q5JBxZlWKUs8bDfMLqU2pv9iQhwebZTTis4mLAhBK8PNpmHq4SBqTinH6Lwc/s320/IMG_1528.jpg" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1OkrXgMv6woTSLzEuzA15jlgEE7ABWkY_X-X2G0IC_pkM3gTdtcBfjuV_F26Giey_US-odEHnoTZRSHMVaCHpcRKKbGVFDEk0amqusgIhWlB29mGC7BEnut1oi1eqINnRZ67Nlp4_vkM/s1600/IMG_1536.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1OkrXgMv6woTSLzEuzA15jlgEE7ABWkY_X-X2G0IC_pkM3gTdtcBfjuV_F26Giey_US-odEHnoTZRSHMVaCHpcRKKbGVFDEk0amqusgIhWlB29mGC7BEnut1oi1eqINnRZ67Nlp4_vkM/s320/IMG_1536.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I took the angled close up to try to show the Amethyst embossing powder and the perfect pearls :-)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I layered it with some pretty star paper I brought a good few years ago (and can no longer remember where it was from) on a purple A5 size card. I made sure there was a nice retirement themed verse inside, to mark the occasion. I really enjoyed using these stamps, they seemed perfectly designed for embossing and colouring. I shall enjoy making many more things with these.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have been a regular participator in the monthly ATC swap at <a href="http://addictedtoatcs.blogspot.com/">'Addicted to ATCs'</a> and this months swap was 'Things with wings'. I have some very nice butterfly stamps and a couple of pretty dragonfly stamps too but I decided to got with some of the Bird stamps from Elusive Images that I have had for a while now and really do love. My set of three were made using the 'Hydrangea' Big and Juicy ink pad, with masking and brayering techniques.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I have been sewing a pretty Geisha girl for a few weeks now and it's coming along nicely. I'll be back to the cards in the week as there are more birthdays on the horizon!</div><div style="text-align: left;">Sarah x</div><br />

I've spent a couple of hours this afternoon playing, for the first time, with some alcohol inks. They've appealed to me for ages now but I was holding off investing in some as I have loads of craft stash and didn't want to get into something else new for a while. However my local craft shop was having a sale and I fell into temptation :-) I already had an ink blending tool, so I only needed some felt pads and inks to start me off (although I do wish I'd brought blending solution too). It's my Father-In-Law's birthday next week and I decided that his card would play guinea pig to my first attempt!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3ug9Q24vzDYGVWSr_C5cHYiqFLBAjFfmzFj4RsDLVhn9838hZ7-QDiqrHhUJPs9-3cCNWbAdfVjW2URKslpNjTKxapVkT1tjPtEipKGZeRV2sep0FpTpzE8Z-PcKopoR-Tms5a4FYcVY/s1600/IMG_1521.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3ug9Q24vzDYGVWSr_C5cHYiqFLBAjFfmzFj4RsDLVhn9838hZ7-QDiqrHhUJPs9-3cCNWbAdfVjW2URKslpNjTKxapVkT1tjPtEipKGZeRV2sep0FpTpzE8Z-PcKopoR-Tms5a4FYcVY/s320/IMG_1521.jpg" /></a></div>I have to admit I'm never the most inspired when it comes to making cards for men and I often rely on my trusty ship stamp with some water colour pencils to save the day...and here it is again! The alcohol inks I brought were Adirondack in 'Eggplant', 'Currant' and 'Caramel'. I made the background paper using glossy card by putting a few drops of each colour onto a felt pad and stamped repeatedly using the blending tool. I also tried it out in a plastic tag that I had, alcohol ink on one side and a sentiment stamped on the other with Stazon ink in 'Timber brown'. All of these where then layered up onto a pearlised brown A6 card.<br />
